The Classic

"When the sun shines on the sea, I think of you. When the dim moonlight is on the spring I think of you."

The movie was all about the story of a mother and daughter who actually have similar stories happened in their lovelives. It all started when Ji hye, the daughterof Joo hee, read the letters and diaries in the box that her mother made and received when she was in her age. As she was reading the letters, the flashbacks began. Her mother Joo hee met the guy named Joon ha at the river. Then the following day, they both fell in love with each other but unfortunately her father don't like Joon ha for his daughter and they decided to go to Seoul for Joo hee to get well. After several years, they met again at a cetain program where Joo hee performed and played Beethoven. Joo hee's father planned a marriage for Joo hee and Tae-soo. But Tae- soo knew that Joon ha was really in love with Joo hee. So Tae-soo finds a way where Joon ha and Joo hee can communicate. Since Tae soo was known by the famiy of Joo hee, he is the one sending letters to Joo hee which was written by Joon ha. From that moment when Tae soo admitted that he was not really in love with Joo hee, his father violently hurt him with his belt and slaps Tae soo many times. With that, he decided to just end his life for the sake of his friend.

Joon ha joined army and went to vietnam. Unfortunately, he got blinded but he made to come back for Joo hee. As she saw Joon ha, she was very happy that he's alive. They talked to each other but to disappoint her, he lied that he's already married. She squealed with what she heard and from that she also lied that she's married too to Tae soo. She went back to the river, the place where they fell in love with each other. The group of men told her that Joon ha had a son and she also found out that he hadn't marry any woman at all. Her heart was dilapidated with the words they said and with that, she cried a lot.

Same story that happen with her daughter Ji hye wherein she fell in love with Sang min which her friend was also have interests with him too. Sang min didn't let her know his feelings because he was afraid he might hurt Ji hye's friend. But in the end of the story, Sang min admtted that he also has feelings for her. Sang min has the necklace which Ji hye's mother gave to Joon ha. He gave Ji hye the necklace to know that he's the son of Joon ha. That ends the story.
